The Warung is collaborating with the community to give a special treat to the healthcare workers and first responders who have been working during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Inspired by the dedication of our frontliners working tirelessly to serve the country and protect our lives, we at The Warung want to play our part to give back to this team of heroes.
We want to show a simple gesture by fuelling the healthcare workers with good coffee, giving them the moral boost of solidarity. As much as we want to do it, we cannot work on it alone. We need your help to support this project to show some love to them.
This action may not be as noble as what the doctors and nurses have done for us, but it is a symbolic show of solidarity to those who are battling the pandemic at the frontline.
Want to help? Here’s how.
For every RM10 that you pay, we will deliver two cups of coffee to the frontliners.
We will be delivering the drinks in batches of 100 cups to hospitals. We will also be partnering with other local cafes to supply the needed coffee.
With your help, we can treat them with a good cup of coffee to the team that are risking their lives to keep us safer every day.
Stay safe, take care and let’s support each other.
Why are we giving this?
While we do not have the professional expertise to assist the healthcare workers and first responders, what we can do is to help them to adhere to the SOPs and contain the virus. At the same time, it is a symbolic show of solidarity to those who are battling the pandemic at the frontline.
How can I help?
You can purchase two cups of coffee from us, and we will deliver it to the healthcare workers and first responders.
I contributed. What happens next?
We’re working to connect with hospitals and healthcare facilities to schedule deliveries to the frontliners. Batches of 100 cups of drinks will be delivered to the scheduled location.
How many are we planning to give away?
As long as the healthcare workers and first responders are accepting it, we will make good coffee and deliver it to them. However, we will first contact the person-in-charge before delivering to avoid wastage and to make sure that we comply with the SOPs too.
How many cups of coffee can you cater to the healthcare workers and first responders in a day?
We are not a commercialised cafe, therefore there is a limit to how much we can serve in a day. But if we are not able to make it, we are also working with other local cafes to help in this effort. By doing this, we are also helping other local businesses in the community too.
Are you considering making meals for them too?
We can consider it, if we have the local community to support this effort.
